Study on Gifted Youth
Welcome to the research study on intelligence and emotions in gifted kids!
My name is Anaïs Wong. I am studying to be a clinical psychologist at the California School of Professional Psychology. I have worked intensively with gifted children and adults as part of my training at Summit Center, was a research assistant for SENG's Medical Misdiagnosis of Gifted Children Initiative, and co-presented results with Dr. Stephen Chou and Dr. Jim Webb at the 2014 SENG conference. I plan to devote my career to research and care for the gifted.
This website was created for research purposes as part of my doctoral research study. It focuses on analytical intelligence, emotional intelligence, and overexcitabilities in gifted children. Briefly, methods consist mainly of a weblink leading to an informed consent, and (once both parent and child have consented) a questionnaire followed by an interactive aptitude test of emotional intelligence.
I am currently seeking volunteers 12-17 years old to complete:
- An online personality questionnaire (5-10min)
- An online aptitude test (20-40min)
Contribute to research on giftedness for gifted people! Participants will receive access to a free online presentation on human intelligence and giftedness at the end of the study, as compensation for their efforts. More detailed information can be found in the “The Study” tab. Please review it carefully.
Results of this study could help us to better understand how gifted children grow and how the human brain becomes intelligent. If results are conclusive, this study's findings would directly benefit
gifted children everywhere, by providing important new understanding of intelligence to
academics, mental health professionals, and educators.
